Exhibit opens at the Kent Centennial Gallery

This past summer we were awarded a show by the Kent Arts Commission at the Centennial Center Gallery. But stretching down a long hallway in Kent City Hall, the exhibit space was much bigger than we could afford to fill. So Sara has been working with Cheryl dos Remédios at the Arts Commission to turn the event into a Blue Earth group show on climate change.
”From Antarctica to the Amazon: Blue Earth Photographers Document Global Climate Change” features prints from our Nordic collection (on the right) along side Daniel Beltra’s work from the Amazon (on the left), images from Gary Braasch’s new book, Earth Under Fire, and prints from Camille Seaman’s The Last Iceberg series. Join us for an opening reception this Thursday, November 13, from 5 to 8 p.m. The exhibition runs through January 2, 2009. More information.

New multimedia piece for North Cascades Institute

Last August we spent a weekend documenting one of North Cascades Institute’s Family Getaways. From canoeing and hiking adventures,  to bat-watching, bunkbeds and campfires, the program provides a unique three-day opportunity for families of all shapes and sizes to gather in the North Cascades. We recently finished a five-minute piece and launched it online on our multimedia page. This week I also completed a new “multimedia theater” for North Cascades Institute’s Web site. The new pages present video and slideshows in an elegant interface without the limitations of the existing site.

Photo on the cover of Natural Skagit

This week the Skagit Land Trust will celebrate the release of “Natural Skagit: A journey from mountains to sea.” The coffee table book includes over 200 photographs and features my image of Darek Staab summiting Eldorado Peak on the lower-left of the cover. Other images I shot for North Cascades Institute are also included. On Thursday, November 13, the Trust will hold a book-release celebration at the Skagit Valley Gardens from 5:30-7:30 p.m. Congrats to all involved on the release of a beautiful book!
